Vice President, Enterprise Capacity & Materials Planning Strategy, Pratt & Whitney

Sergio Loureiro is vice president, Enterprise Capacity & Materials Planning Strategy, at Pratt & Whitney. He is responsible for enterprise-wide inventory and the operations-planning process, and aligning market demand from the business units to operational capacity.

Sergio has numerous years of experience and leadership in engineering, systems development, materials, technology integration, quality, supply chain, manufacturing and operations. His most recent position was vice president, Manufacturing and Module Center Operations, where he was responsible for leading and assuring the quality, delivery and cost performance, as well as capacity expansion, for P&W's manufacturing sites and Engine Centers. Prior to that, he was vice president, Global Supply Chain, where he was responsible for the company's Global Supply Chain organization. He led all supply chain activity including strategic sourcing, supply management, and worked with the Pratt & Whitney Quality organization to oversee supplier quality.

In his previous roles within the supply chain organization as vice president, Supplier Quality and vice president, Strategic Sourcing, Sergio established collaborative supplier relationships, negotiated and secured more than $21 billion in supplier contracts and leveraged his technical background to improve supplier quality and processes.

Before joining Pratt & Whitney, Sergio worked at General Electric where he developed foundational, margin-enhancing and disruptive technologies in structural, optical, magnetic, porous, luminescent and sensing technologies, from materials development to device integration.

Sergio earned a Licenciatura in Chemistry from the University of Lisbon, a Ph.D. in Physics from the Universite Joseph Fourier and CNRS in France and two post-doctoral appointments at NIRIM-Japan and Princeton University. Sergio has received more than 30 patents for his work and has written more than 70 publications.
