Pratt & Whitney Canada Named Frost & Sullivan Engine OEM of the Year

LONGUEUIL, Quebec, Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has received the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defense Award for Engine OEM of the Year. The award category is for engines below 20,000 pounds of thrust used in the general, business and regional aviation sectors. The award is based on Frost & Sullivan's research, which takes a holistic view of engine manufacturing and related support services across all countries in the Asia Pacific region, and is focused on the Pratt & Whitney Canada (SEA) Pte. Ltd. Operation located in Singapore. P&WC in Singapore offers maintenance, repair and overhaul services for customers in the Asia Pacific region who fly with PT6A, PT6B, PT6T and PW100 engines. P&WC is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

Frost & Sullivan praised P&WC for its continuous investment of millions of dollars annually to ensure that its engines and support services are environmentally sound. The research company said that long before the fuel crisis, P&WC had been advancing green programs through the implementation of innovative technologies to optimize fuel consumption and minimize carbon emissions, noise levels and weight.
