CANOGA PARK, Calif., Thursday, April 22, 2010

Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne was awarded the 2010 Veterans Employer of the Year Award by the California Employer Advisory Council (CEAC) for its leadership in hiring and promoting U.S. servicemen and women. Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne was one of about 40 companies in California to have been nominated for this prestigious honor. Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

"The men and women who served and continue to serve our nation are key contributors to our company, and they broaden the diversity of our workforce at Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne," said Darold Sawyer, manager of Diversity and Equal Employment Opportunity Programs, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne. "They bring an amazing set of skills, including leadership, discipline and adaptability. We are honored to be recognized with this award, but even more honored to have veterans as part of our team."

The Veterans Employer of the Year Award recognizes employers who consistently demonstrate positive policies toward U.S. veterans in hiring and promotion, as well as through employee retention, training and benefits. Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne's Veterans Employee Network Group actively supports the recruitment of U.S. veterans at job fairs, including the California Honor a Hero, Hire a Vet Job and Resource Fair, of which Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne is a sponsor.
