INTENSE COMBUSTION

Intense Combustion

Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne solves your toughest engineering problems.

Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne has the experience to design, test and analyze a broad variety of combustion and fluid flow systems. We have demonstrated a track record of applying our tools to new, innovative combustor concepts and adapting these tools to successfully analyze and capture the physics within.

Example

High Energy Propellants and Detonation

The need for packaging high energy density in a small volume leads to operation with highly energetic combustion propellants, such as hypergolics. Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne Extreme Engineers are well versed in the safe testing and design application of these systems, having designed small rocket thrusters with hypergolic propellants since the days of Apollo. In addition, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne maintains the capability to predict hazard analysis and high-speed deflagrations and detonations for many applications.
