Next Generation of Aerospace Pioneers Measure Up at University of Hartford
School is in session for a group of Pratt & Whitney employees who recently began a course in metrology at the University of Hartford. The program, developed by Pratt & Whitney, teaches students to use measurement tools and techniques that are standard throughout the Pratt & Whitney supply base.
Metrology is the scientific study of measurement and it has a broad range of uses. The course is not designed to make one into a metrology expert, according to Pete Teti, SQA discipline chief of Quality, who works closely with professors to develop the curriculum. Instead, it's designed to educate employees about a subject to which they might not have been previously exposed.
The course is offered to a wide array of Pratt & Whitney personnel and provides invaluable hands on experience, which empowers employees to perform better in their respective roles.
