Pratt & Whitney Dallas Airfoil Repair Operations Employees Celebrate United Way Day of Caring

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Pratt & Whitney employees at Dallas Airfoil Repair Operations in Grand Prairie, Texas, recently had the opportunity to give back to their local United Way agency, The Parenting Center. Employees helped spruce up the center by removing brush, trimming shrubbery along sidewalks and cleaning the building's exterior.

The Parenting Center's mission is to provide family members and professionals with resources, tools and services to build successful families. Some of the services provided by The Parenting Center include abuse counseling, parenting classes and health and safety lessons. Each year approximately 14,000 to 18,000 individuals, in Tarrant County and surrounding counties in Texas, benefit from the programs this organization offers.

"We are grateful for generous gifts of service like this that multiply the impact on the county's children and families," said Barbara Lamsens, executive director of The Parenting Center. "Pratt & Whitney's volunteerism is greatly appreciated, as it allows us to provide a better learning environment for the families we serve in our community."
